At Island Head, we operate ferries to Daufuskie every single day of the year except Christmas Day, making your island experience simple, reliable, and unforgettable. Both offer an easy way to reach the island — but each brings its own benefits depending on what you need.

Public Ferry Service

Our Public Ferry is the most convenient and affordable way to get to Daufuskie Island, with departures running every day of the year except Christmas Day.

Departure Times

From Hilton Head: 9:00am, 11:00am, 4:15pm
From Daufuskie: 10:00am, 3:15pm, 5:15pm

(Please note: our Winter Schedule from December–February may differ slightly. Check our website for updated times.)

The Public Ferry is perfect for individuals, couples, or small groups with minimal luggage. Each passenger receives one complimentary item, and additional bags, boxes, or equipment can be transported for a small fee.

Private Ferry Charter

For groups of 5 or more, families traveling with lots of gear, or anyone looking for a more flexible experience, our Private Ferry is the way to go. With this option, the boat is reserved entirely for your group, giving you complete control over your travel time and space. It’s the easiest and most stress-free way to travel to Daufuskie — especially when luggage is involved.

What’s Included:

  • All luggage included at no extra cost (bring as much as you want, as long as it fits onboard!)
  • Flexible departure times based on your schedule
  • 50% off overnight parking at Broad Creek Marina
