Heritage, Easter, and Water Sports, Oh My!

So what do Heritage, Easter and watersports have in common?  Well, nothing really… Other than the fact that the RBC Heritage Tournament and Easter fall on the same week this year! This happens every couple of years and boy does it create some crazy tourist concoction!

This week is shaping up to be the perfect storm here on Hilton Head Island, and I mean that in the best way possible! Notoriously, we are dealing with some not so pleasant weather from Mother Nature during Heritage week… Well not this week, folks!  Sunny and 70’s all week!  Woohoo! Not to mention we will experience an amazing Pink Full Moon on April 11th, which always adds a little extra crazy in our lives.  And then there are the people.  In addition to being graced with the influx of golf aficionados, beer drinking college goers, and plaid wearing enthusiasts, we also have families here just simply enjoying a week at the beach celebrating the Easter holiday and maybe joining in on the big Easter egg hunt at Shelter Cove.

Don’t get me wrong, we love tourists! Our business depends on tourists!  With out them our Island would not be what it is today and we would be out a job.  But with the cross over of the RBC Heritage and Easter comes some insane traffic, a lot more hustle bustle, and lets face it lot more drinking!  Getting into Sea Pines, if you are not here for the golf tournament, can be a nightmare.  Well, what if you were looking to climb the lighthouse in Harbour Town? Or what if you were looking to treat the kids to an Easter parasailing trip or jet ski ride?   How can your non-golf going family still have fun with all the excitement and hoopla of the RBC Heritage?  INSERT: Island Head Watersports! That’s where we come in!

We operate out of Palmetto Bay Marina, underneath the Cross Island Bridge, next to Carolina Crab Company and Black Marlin Bayside Grill.  Which means no gate fees to get to your activity, like in some of the private resorts.  We have ample parking at the marina and a quick & easy departure from the docks to get you out on the water ASAP! At Island Head we have an activity for everyone in the family: From Parasailing, to Jet Skiing, and Banana Boat rides to Stand-Up-Paddle Boarding!  We truly are your one stop shop for family fun in the sun!

Whether you are here for the golf, or here for family time or maybe even both, come see us at Island Head Watersports!  We are easily accessible, operating 7 days a week (including Easter Sunday) and we promise you hassle free FUN!
